摘要: A recoil starter featuring a capability of efficiently cooling an engine, easy fabrication and handlings of a power storage spiral spring and an enhanced assemblability is provided. The recoil starter comprises: a starter case unitary with a starter shaft; a one way clutch mechanism comprising a cylinder cam mounted to the starter shaft, a cup-shaped pulley mounted on an engine side, and a ratchet mechanism mounted to the pulley or the cylinder cam and brought into or out of engagement with the cylinder cam or the cup-shaped pulley; a reel pivotally mounted to the starter shafts; a recoil spiral spring anchored to the starter case and the reel at both ends thereof and biased in a direction to wind up the rope; and a power storage spiral spring accommodated in a cassette type spring case and operative to resiliently transmit a reel torque to the cylinder cam when the rope is pulled out, wherein air inlet ports for introducing a cooling air for engine are disposed at an outside surface and outer periphery of the starter case, a side surface of the reel and a side surface of the spring case for the power storage spiral spring.

摘要: To provide a recoil starter which is provided with a ratchet member smoothly sliding on an inner peripheral surface of a drive pulley and capable of being manufactured at a low cost. A recoil starter is provided with a circular cross section ratchet member rotatably mounted on a shaft hole. The ratchet member is configured by: a rotary shaft portion inserted into the shaft hole; an arm portion bent at a substantially right angle and extending from the rotary shaft portion; and a distal end portion bent parallel to the rotary shaft portion and extending from the arm portion. The ratchet member rotates upon rotation of a rope reel in an engine start direction, engages with a drive pulley by the rotation, and transmits torque of the rope reel to the drive pulley.

摘要: One embodiment provides a recoil starter mechanism, including: a starter case having a rotation shaft; a rope reel rotatably mounted on the rotation shaft; a coil spring wound on the rotation shaft, one end thereof being formed into a tip projecting portion; a hold plate holding the coil spring to the rotation shaft; and a ratchet which is formed into a ring-like shape and interposed between the rope reel and the hold plate. The ratchet includes: a fulcrum around which the ratchet is swingable with respect to the rope reel; a guide groove in which the tip projecting portion is engaged; and an engagement pawl which is to be engaged with an engagement portion of a pulley to thereby start an engine. The guide groove and the engagement pawl are disposed at opposite sides so as to interpose the rotation shaft therebetween.

摘要: One of the embodiments provides a starter including: a starter case; a rotational torque applying unit; a torque-accumulation spring; a rotating member; a driving pulley; and a rotation regulating mechanism including: a regulating ratchet provided on the driving pulley or the rotating member at a position shifted from a rotation center thereof; and a pressing unit provided on the starter case and urged by a given resilient pressing force to be engaged with the regulating ratchet, wherein, when the rotational torque accumulated in the torque-accumulation spring exceeds the given resilient pressing force, the driving pulley or the rotating member urges back the pressing unit via the regulating ratchet so that the regulating ratchet is disengaged from the pressing unit, to thereby release the rotational torque.

摘要: An engine starting device includes a self-starting motor drivable to rotate the crankshaft of an engines, and a one-way clutch operable to permit transmission of rotary motion of the self-starting motor in one direction only to the crankshaft. The one-way clutch includes an inner race operatively connected to an output shaft of the self-starting motor, an outer race operatively connected to the crankshaft, a plurality of ratchet pawls pivotally connected to the inner race and urged by springs against the inner race. The one-way clutch is designed such that, when the speed of rotation of the inner race while being rotated by the self-starting motor goes up to a predetermined value, the ratchet pawls are caused to swing in a radial outward direction under the action of centrifugal force against the bias of the springs and become engaged by the outer race to thereby engage the one-way clutch.

摘要: According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a recoil starter including: a case having a reel supporting shaft; a rope reel having: a tubular shaft portion; an engaging portion; a rope housing groove to house a recoil rope; and a spring housing portion to house a spiral spring; a ratchet axially-slidably arranged outside the tubular shaft portion; a ratchet guide attached to an end of the reel supporting shaft; and a return spring provided between the ratchet guide and the ratchet, wherein an inclined surface and a locking surface are formed on the engaging portion to be engageable with the ratchet, and wherein the inclined surface guides the ratchet toward to be engaged with the driving pulley, thereby rotating the driving pulley and starting the engine, when the rope reel is rotated.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a starter for a small engine includes: a torque apply unit that applies a torque to a torque-accumulation spring; a rotating member that transmits the accumulated torque to a crankshaft; and a rotation regulation unit that restrains the accumulated torque from being transmitted to the crankshaft, wherein the rotation regulation unit includes: a regulation ratchet provided on a rotating body linked with the crank shaft to rotate therewith; and a pressing unit provided on an engine case to be engaged with the regulation ratchet and to regulate an operation thereof, and wherein the regulation ratchet is disengaged from the pressing unit by the torque accumulated in the torque-accumulation spring when the accumulated torque exceeds a predetermined resilient force, thereby starting the engine.

摘要: A recoil starter is disclosed which enables a rotational force to be accumulated in accumulating means with a light pulling force and the accumulated rotational force to start an engine through simple operations. A cam wheel is rotated using a rotational force which has been accumulated in the accumulating means by pulling a recoil rope. Retention means is operable to restrain or permit the rotation of the cam wheel. Release means operates the retention means to restrain the rotation of the cam wheel by pulling a handle attached to the recoil rope, and operates the retention means to permit the rotation of the cam wheel by fixing the handle in a main casing.
