    Abstract: A shift lever position determination device is for a vehicle and includes an electronic control device. The electronic control device is configured to perform a majority determination in a case where more than half of the signals from the plurality of position sensors correspond to the same operating position, and configured to determine whether the operating position of the shift lever is on a M operating position side or a N operating position side in a select direction based on the magnitude relationship of the signals in a case where the majority determination is not satisfied. The electronic control device is configured to determine, in the majority determination, that the operating position corresponding to more than half of the signals is the operating position of the shift lever.

    Abstract: A vehicle control apparatus includes: (a) a shift control portion for controlling switching of a power transmission apparatus between a parking position and a non-parking position; (b) a fail-safe portion for executing a fail-safe operation for inhibiting an electric actuator from being re-driven, when detecting an abnormality of the electric actuator; (c) a power-supply control portion for switching a supplier of an electric power to the electric actuator, from a first power supply to a second power supply, in case of determining a power supply failure of the first power supply; and (d) an abnormality-detection stop portion configured, in case of occurrence of a power-supply failure state of the first power supply during the switching from the non-parking position to the parking position, to stop the fail-safe portion from detecting the abnormality of the electric actuator, until the electric power supplier has been switched to the second power supply.

    Abstract: A detecting device includes a shift selector, a magnet disposed in the shift selector, four or more sensors arranged at positions facing the magnet and an ECU. The ECU is configured to (i) determine a shift position based on signals output from the four or more sensors when the magnet is relatively displaced with respect to the four or more sensors in response to an operation of the shift selector, (ii) determine the shift position based on signals output from three or more of the four or more sensors determined to be normal when any one of the four or more sensors is abnormal, and (iii) determine the abnormality based on whether or not the three or more sensors output, during the traveling of the vehicle, a signal to a shift position pertaining to a case of traveling in the direction opposite to a traveling direction of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A semiconductor wafer is provided with a thick region extending along its outer circumferential surface and being greater in thickness than its central region. A main surface of the wafer includes a slope surface located between the central region and the thick region. The slope surface has an inner circumferential edge and an outer circumferential edge, and slopes such that the thickness of the wafer increases from the inner circumferential edges to the outer circumferential edge.     Abstract: An operator is a momentary operator. An electronic control unit is configured to when the operator does not pass through any one of traveling operation positions while the operator is operated from an initial position to an neutral operation position and then returned to the initial position, and when the operator is continuously held at the neutral operation position for a first predetermined time or longer, change a shift range of an automatic transmission to the neutral range, and when the operator passes through at least one of the traveling operation positions while the operator is operated from the initial position to the neutral operation position and then returned to the initial position, prohibit a change of the shift range to the neutral range even when the operator is continuously held at the neutral operation position for the first predetermined time or longer.
