Abstract: A method is proposed of arranging, in a mobile communication network, transmission of data between user equipment and a base station including a central unit and at least one remote unit associated therewith. The data includes information data and, associated with the information data, first control data substantially time-varying over a scheduling time period, and second control data substantially time-unvarying over the scheduling time period. The method includes at the central unit side, transmitting the information data and the first control data to the at least one remote unit, and at the at least one selected remote unit side, receiving the information data and the first control data from the central unit, generating the second control data, combining the generated second control data with the received information and first control data into the data, and transmitting the data to a selected user equipment.

Abstract: A method is proposed of arranging, in a mobile communication network, transmission of data between user equipment and at least one base station including a central unit and at least one remote unit associated therewith. The method includes at a transmitting side including the remote unit or the central unit, quantizing the data according to a quantization bit number, and transmitting, over a fronthaul link between the transmitting side and a receiving side including the central unit or the remote unit, respectively, the quantized data to the receiving side. The method further includes, at the central unit: determining the quantization bit number, wherein the determining including varying in time the quantization bit number according to network information available at the central unit, and communicating to the at least one remote unit the determined quantization bit number.

Abstract: A mobile telecommunication network including plural network elements, divided into at least two clusters. At least one remote unit of a first cluster is further connected to a central unit of the second cluster, at least one respective served area of the at least one remote unit of the first cluster being adjacent to at least one further respective served area of a further remote unit of the second cluster.

Abstract: A method is proposed of arranging, in a mobile communication network, transmission of data between user equipment and at least one base station including a central unit and at least one remote unit associated therewith. The method includes at a transmitting side including the remote unit or the central unit, quantizing the data according to a quantization bit number, and transmitting, over a fronthaul link between the transmitting side and a receiving side including the central unit or the remote unit, respectively, the quantized data to the receiving side. The method further includes, at the central unit: determining the quantization bit number, wherein the determining including varying in time the quantization bit number according to network information available at the central unit, and communicating to the at least one remote unit the determined quantization bit number.

Abstract: A method arranges, in a mobile communication network, data transmission between user equipment and at least one base station including a central unit and at least one remote unit associated therewith. The data includes information data and control data from the central unit to the remote unit, or vice versa. The method includes allocating radio resources for the data to/from the remote unit, grouping the allocated radio resources, each group including at least one radio resource allocated for data to/from a respective remote unit, including in each group data indicating an association of the allocated radio resource of that group with the respective remote unit, including in each group allocation data indicating the allocated radio resources, among the at least one allocated radio resource, that have been allocated for the information data, and transmitting the groups in the frequency-domain between the central unit and the at least one remote unit.
