摘要: According to aspects herein, methods and systems for time division duplexing (TDD) management in New Radio (NR) are provided. The method begins with determining if a cell site has heavy uplink use. This can be shown by the cell site using a heavy uplink TDD pattern, which is indicative of users transmitting more data then they receive. Once a cell site has been found to have heavy uplink use, a list of neighboring cell sites is retrieved. The neighboring cell sites may be analyzed to determine if they have heavy downlink use. The method then proceeds to determine if the neighboring cell sites with heavy downlink use can be downlink blanked. Downlink blanking on the neighboring cell sites may then be turned on.

摘要: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are described herein which dynamically provide an optimized mechanism for switching uplink waveforms within a cellular network. An uplink profile generally indicates a number of transmission ports and what uplink waveform is used by a user device to transmit to a base station. A power headroom, channel conditions, and signal to interference plus noise ratio are used to modify the uplink profile. These inputs may be compared to upper and lower threshold values to provide optimal conditions to switch from a Cyclic Prefix Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing waveform (CP-OFDM) to a Direct Fourier Transform Spread Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing waveform (DFT-s-OFDM).

Transitioning a user devices to a configuration may involve modifying the number of layers and/ports used for uplink communications. In response to modifying the number of layers and/or ports, a user device may alter the transmit power used for uplink communication so that a target power can be utilized by the user device. Adjustments to the transmit power enables a higher coverage and performance of the user device in a communication network.

摘要: A wireless communication network serves Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) User Equipment (UEs) and Mobile Wireless Access (MWA) UEs. Wireless access nodes receive signaling from the UEs and transfer the signaling to a network control-plane. The network control-plane determines network characteristics for the UEs responsive to the signaling. The control-plane generates MWA UE context for the UEs in a MWA UE group based on the network characteristics and generates FWA UE context for the UEs in the FWA UE group based on the network characteristics. The network control-plane transfers signaling to the wireless access nodes having the MWA UE context and the FWA UE context. The wireless access nodes serve the UEs in the MWA UE group by using Discontinuous Reception (DRX) responsive to the MWA UE context. The wireless access nodes serve the UEs in the FWA group without using the DRX responsive to the FWA UE context.
