Abstract:
Embodiments of mattress systems comprise a mattress base, a multifunctional foam layer having a substantially planar top side and a non-planar bottom side contacting a top side of the mattress base, and wherein at least one air passage is present in spacing formed between the top side of the mattress base and the non-planar bottom side of the multifunctional foam layer, and a thermo-regulating gel layer affixed to at least a portion of the top side of the multifunctional foam layer.
Abstract:
A mattress spring structure (10) is provided with a strengthened central area (C) thereon to provide greater support for a user's body lumbar region when received thereon. The support is provided with a strengthening structure (30) having a continuous frame member (54) and a strengthening pattern (53). The continuous frame (54) encircles coil springs (12) over a major expanse of the mattress's central area (C); this frame is connected to mattress coils along the frames longitudinal (34, 36) and traverse (38, 40) segments. The strengthening pattern (53) has two metal bars (51, 52) arranged inside and connected to the continuous frame member (54). The strengthening pattern (53) may be connected to the spring coils (12) and contain additional metal straps (56, 59). The strengthening structure (30) is positioned and arranged to causes substantially uniform depression of adjacent coil springs to the continuous frame member (54) in the lumbar zone thereby eliminating any undesired upward pressure into the user's back.

Abstract:
A reversible mattress includes a first outer region and a core region placed beneath the first outer region. The core region includes at least one core portion. The reversible mattress further includes a second outer region placed beneath the core region. The first outer region, the core region, and the second outer region are each made of latex foam and form the reversible mattress. The first outer region has a first outer ILD (ILDT1) and the second outer region has a second outer ILD (ILDT2) such that the first outer ILD (ILDT1) is lower than the second outer ILD (ILDT2).
Abstract:
A mattress is provided comprising a plurality of inner coil springs and an edge support. The edge support comprises a foam border extending along the outer perimeter of the mattress and around the inner coil springs, a plurality of spaced slits inserted into the foam border, and a plurality of edge springs inserted into the plurality of spaced slits.
Abstract:
An anti-microbial/-allergenic sleep set and process of forming thereof is provided and comprises a mattress and box spring, each having an allergen-impermeable barrier layer incorporated within. The mattress comprises a support apparatus, a top and bottom panel, first and second flanges, a border, a foam layer, and a barrier layer. The border is positioned around the support apparatus, and is attached to the top and bottom panels. The foam layer, which can comprise a latex emulsion, is positioned between the support apparatus and the top and bottom panels. The barrier layer comprises a material configured to be impermeable by allergens, and is attached at its outer periphery to the interior facing sides of the top panel, the bottom panel, and the border.
