Abstract: A human body detection device detects whether a human body is present within a predetermined distance from an apparatus equipped with the human body detection device. The device includes a sensor, a threshold processing unit, and a sensor control unit. The sensor is configured to sense infrared to sequentially output a plurality of detection values. The threshold processing unit is configured to perform averaging and weighted averaging on the detection values to obtain a weighted average value of the detection values, and set a threshold based on the weighted average value of the detection values.
