    Abstract: Disclosed is a local dimming liquid crystal display device. The present local dimming liquid crystal display device comprises a display panel unit having a plurality of pixels; a panel driving unit for driving each of the plurality of pixels; a backlight unit comprising a plurality of backlights for dividing the display panel unit into a plurality of areas to emit light to each of the plurality of regions; a backlight driving unit for driving the plurality of backlights on the basis of gray level information of the plurality of pixels corresponding to each of the plurality of areas; and a processor for calculating a first amount of light to be incident on each pixel on the basis of the gray level of each pixel, calculating a second amount of light incident on each pixel in accordance with a driving state of the plurality of back-lights, changing the gray level of at least one of the plurality of pixels on the basis of the difference between the first amount of light and the second amount of light, and controlling the panel driving unit on the basis of the changed gray level.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing numeric calculation are provided. The method includes determining a shift bit and an index bit that falls within an index range of a lookup table from among bits representing a divisor scaled up by an offset, obtaining a replacement value corresponding to an index value of the determined index bit by using the lookup table, multiplying a dividend scaled up by the offset by the obtained replacement value, and outputting a value corresponding to a division operation by correcting a scale of a result of the multiplication using a right shift operation.

    Abstract: A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus includes an input interface, a first storage, a display, and a processor. Pixel values corresponding to a predetermined number of lines in an image input through the input interface are stored in the first storage. The processor acquires a first patch of a predetermined size by sampling a number of pixel values located in an outer region of a matrix centering about a specific pixel value from among the pixel values stored in the first storage, acquires a high-frequency component for the specific pixel value based on the acquired first patch, and processes the input image based on the high-frequency component.
