Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a 5th Generation (5G) or pre-5G system to be provided to support a higher data transfer rate after a 4G communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). The present invention is for performing random access in a wireless communication system, and a base station includes a communication unit for transmitting system information including a plurality of thresholds, and a control unit for determining a random access result for each mode on the basis of a detection result on a preamble transmitted from at least one terminal.

Abstract: A method for transmitting and receiving data between a first cluster and a second cluster by a first device of the first cluster, the first device, and a second device are provided. Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication scheme for combining an IoT technology and a 5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G system, and a system therefor. A timing advance controlling method according to the present disclosure comprises the steps of: selecting a cell on the basis of a signal received from a base station; selecting one coverage class from a plurality of coverage classes in the selected cell; selecting one timing advance value from a plurality of timing advance values determined in advance on the basis of the selected coverage class; and determining an uplink transmission point on the basis of the selected timing advance value, and transmitting uplink data at the determined transmission point.
