Abstract: A communication technique for merging, with internet of things (IoT) technology, a fifth generation (5G) communication system for supporting a higher data rate, subsequent to a fourth generation (4G) system, and a system thereof are provided. The disclosure can be applied to an intelligent service (for example, smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, healthcare, digital education, retail, security and safety-related services, and the like), based on a 5G communication technology and an IoT-related technology. A method for reporting user equipment (UE) capability of a terminal and a device thereof are provided.
