Disclosed herein is a home appliance comprising a front panel and a display apparatus disposed to a rear of a rear side of the front panel. The display apparatus includes an image generator including a light source configured to generate a light; a lens configured to condense the light generated by the light source; and a display device configured to generate an image thereon from the condensed light, and to transmit at least a portion of the condensed light so that the image is projected downward from the image generator to a surface outside of the home appliance; and an adjustor including a lens configured to move relative to the image generator to adjust a size of an image projected downward from the image generator to the surface.

A display device includes a backlight unit including: a substrate; a Light Emitting Diode (LED) disposed on a surface of the substrate; and a refractive cover configured to surround the LED. The refractive cover includes: a first refractive surface to: be spaced apart from the LED by a preset distance, be positioned on the upper surface of the substrate, be parallel to an axis of the LED or be inclined within one angle from the axis of the LED; a second refractive surface to be a curved surface in which an angle between a tangent line and the axis of the LED increases from a region connected to another upper portion of the first refractive surface toward a direction of the axis of the LED; and a third refractive surface to be connected to an portion of the second refractive surface and be perpendicular to the axis of the LED.

The present disclosure provides display apparatuses including a backlight unit (BLU). In some embodiments, the display apparatus includes a liquid crystal panel, and a BLU configured to provide light to the liquid crystal panel. The BLU includes a substrate, a plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on the substrate and configured to emit the light, a plurality of refractive covers, and a plurality of reflectors on the substrate disposed between the plurality of LEDs and configured to reflect the light emitted from the plurality of LEDs. Each refractive cover is disposed on a corresponding LED of the plurality of LEDs.
