Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a streaming service in an electronic device are provided. The method includes determining status information of the electronic device, determining data quality for the streaming service based on the status information of the electronic device, transmitting the data quality to a server for the streaming service, and providing the streaming service using streaming data provided from the server.
