    Abstract: A system and method for generating immersive sensation for a two-dimensional still image is provided. The method for generating immersive sensation including: converting a color space of an inputted image; loading a background mask to separate a foreground image and a background image from the inputted image; achieving attribute information for each of the foreground image and the background image, based on a perceptual attribute with respect to the color space, via an image content analysis; predicting scaling parameters based on the attribute information; and enhancing the inputted image based on the scaling parameter.

    Abstract: An image processing apparatus including a region of interest (ROI) configuration unit may generate a visual attention map according to visual characteristics of a human in relation to an input three dimensional (3D) image. A disparity adjustment unit may adjust disparity information, included in the input 3D image, using the visual attention map. Using the disparity information adjusted result, a 3D image may be generated and displayed which reduces a level of visual fatigue a user may experience in viewing the 3D image.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are a medical image generation apparatus and medical image generation method that realistically display an object or inner tissues of the object. The medical image generation apparatus includes a sample image extractor configured to extract a sample image from an original image containing color information of an object, a color gamut modeler configured to model a color gamut of the sample image to have a predetermined shape, a 2D color map generator configured to generate a 2D color map based on the modeled color gamut, a volume data generator configured to generate 3D volume data based on a sectional image of inner tissues of the object, and a control unit configured to generate a 3D color medical image by applying values of the 2D color map to a 3D grayscale medical image acquired by volume rendering of the 3D volume data.
