    Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and apparatus for controlling a target device of a host and a client for supporting a service for the target device which has connectivity not supported by the host. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, the method for controlling the target device of the host includes: receiving, from a first client having the same connectivity as that of at least one target device, target information on the target device, and managing the target information; and, when a service request signal for the target device is received from a second client, transmitting, to the target device, a service control signal for controlling the target device using the target information.

    Abstract: An operation method and a mobile terminal connected to an electronic device are provided. A user input is received for selecting a piece of content displayed on a display of the electronic device. The display displays a user interface including one or more items available at the mobile terminal based on the selected piece of content. A user selection of one of the one or more items included in the displayed user interface is received. The selected piece of content and a command for executing a function of the selected item at the mobile terminal are transmitted to the terminal. The display displays a sending user interface indicating that the mobile terminal executes the function of the selected item.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method control a controllable device in a portable terminal. The apparatus includes a device register unit, an input unit, a memory unit, a gesture detector, a controller, and a contents transmitter. The device register unit registers controllable devices to partial regions of an output screen. The input unit generates input data for controllable device registration or user's input data for controllable device selection. The memory unit stores information of the controllable devices registered by the device register unit. The gesture detector senses a user's input capable of determining direction. The controller detects a controllable device corresponding to the user's input. The contents transmitter transmits contents to the controllable device detected by the controller.
