Abstract: A washing machine includes a controller for controlling a series of washing processes. In a first process, the controller sets a clutch to a first mode in which a rotation of a motor is transferred to a rotating tub via a reducer, and controls the motor to allow the rotation tube to rotate with a first rotation speed which is greater than or equal to a certain rotation speed set to generate a centrifugal force to make laundry stuck to an internal wall of the rotating tub. In a second process after the first process, the controller sets the clutch to a second mode in which the rotation of the motor is transferred to the rotating tub without being through the reducer, and controls the motor to allow the rotating tub to rotate with a second rotation speed which is greater than the first rotation speed.

Abstract: Provided is a washing machine motor capable of efficiently generating torque by improving a winding factor of coils with a relatively simple configuration. The washing machine motor (12) has an outer rotor (20), an inner rotor (30), and a stator (60). The outer rotor (20) and the inner rotor (30) share coils (63) of the stator (60), and a composite current is supplied to the coils (63) such that the outer rotor (20) and the inner rotor (30) are independently driven. The outer rotor (20) has forty eight outer magnets (24) arranged such that the N and S poles thereof are continuously and alternately aligned in the circumferential direction thereof. The inner rotor (30) has forty-two inner magnets (34) arranged such that the N and S poles thereof are continuously and alternately aligned in the circumferential direction thereof. The stator (60) has thirty-six I-shaped cores (61) and the coils (63).

Abstract: A washing machine including a rotary drum that is rotatable, and into which laundry is loadable; a motor configured to rotate the rotary drum; and a controller configured to perform startup control to initiate rotation of the rotary drum, the startup control including a first process for controlling the motor so that torque for rotating the rotary drum in a first rotation direction is applied to the rotary drum; and a second process for controlling the motor so that, after the first process is initiated, and when a rotational acceleration of the rotary drum is less than or equal to a first predefined threshold before a rotation velocity of the rotary drum reaches a first rotation velocity, torque for rotating the rotary drum in reverse is applied to the rotary drum.

Abstract: A washing apparatus is provided. The washing apparatus includes a tub, a drum configured to be rotatable in the tub, a pulsator configured to be rotatable in the drum, a driver configured to drive the drum and the pulsator, and a controller configured to control the driver to rotate the pulsator to a second direction while rotating the drum to a first direction. The controller controls the driver to drive the pulsator based on a position of laundry accommodated in the drum during a rotation of the drum.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for reducing vibration during dehydration of a washing machine having a ball balancer provided to a spin basket for accommodating clothes. The disclosed method for reducing vibration comprises: a test rotation step for rotating the spin basket at a measurement rotation count, which is lower than a resonance rotation count and at which the balls of the ball balancer move in a circle; a vibration period measurement step for measuring a vibration period of the spin basket, the vibration period being caused by the eccentric distribution of the clothes in the test rotation step; and an acceleration start timing acquisition step for acquiring acceleration start timing on the basis of the vibration period such that the balls and the eccentrically distributed clothes are arranged to face each other in opposite phases during resonance, when the rotation count of the spin basket passes the resonance rotation count if there is acceleration at a preset determined acceleration speed from the measurement rotation count.
