Abstract:
An electronic device may include a main body; a rotary member rotatably mounted upon and enclosing at least a portion of the main body, the rotary member including a first region corresponding to a first attribute and a second region corresponding to a second attribute, the first and second regions being alternately arranged on one face of the rotary member; a sensor module configured to acquire attribute information corresponding to at least a partial region of the rotary member as the rotary member is rotated; and a processor, wherein the processor is configured to confirm a change in at least one of the first attribute and the second attribute and to determine at least one of a rotated angle and a rotated direction of the rotary member based on the change.
Abstract:
A device and method for controlling rotation recognition units that detect the rotation of a rotating body in an electronic device are presented. The electronic device includes an outer housing, a rotary member disposed adjacent to, or at least in partial contact with the housing, a first sensor that detects rotation of the rotary member relative to the housing through a first physical change, a second sensor that detects rotation of the rotary member relative to the housing through a second physical change, a battery disposed in the housing, a processor electrically connected to the battery, the first sensor, and the second sensor, and a memory electrically connected to the processor, wherein the memory stores instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to selectively control the operation of at least one of the first and second sensor based on at least one of the state of the electronic device and an application program that is being executed by the processor.
Abstract:
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a frame and a display member exposed through an opening of the frame. The display member includes a first glass exposed through the opening to an outside and a second glass disposed on a surface of the first glass. The second glass includes an area formed to project beyond an edge of the first glass such that the area is positioned inside the frame.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a device for entering an input through a rotary motion, including a rotating body, and a fixed body to which the rotating body is coupled and rotates, wherein a first magnetic material and a second magnetic material are disposed on the rotating body and the fixed body, respectively, such that a clicking sensation to the rotation of the rotating body is generated by a magnetic force between the first and second magnetic materials, and an optical sensor and one or more magnetic sensors are disposed on the fixed body such that an amount, a direction, or a speed of rotation of the rotating body is recognized by the optical sensor, and wherein the one or more magnetic sensors detect the magnetic force.
