Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic device including a display, a memory that stores a video file which includes video data and metadata, and a processor operatively connected with the display and the memory. The metadata includes information about a specified playback time point or a specified playback time interval among a total playback time of the video data. The memory stores instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to output, on the display, a first preview associated with the total playback time of the video data and a second preview associated with the specified playback time point or the specified playback time interval.
