The method (300) may comprise determining (302), by second entity associated with the PIN (210), whether a periodic update request is received from the first entity prior to an expiry of a periodic update (PU) timer value. The method (300) may further comprise determining (304), by the second entity, the availability status of the first entity based on the determination whether the periodic update request is received from the first entity.

The method includes receiving, from a network, one or more relaxed measurement parameters, determining one of a mobility state or a location of the UE with respect to an edge of a serving cell of a visited public land mobile network (VPLMN) of the network based on one or more relaxed measurement parameters, and deferring a background PLMN (BPLMN) search upon determining one of the UE being in a low mobility state or not being at the edge of the serving cell, and/or deferring a near cell measurement search during a measurement gap of a connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) sleep duration of a CDRX state to optimize the power consumption in the UE upon determining one of the UE being in the low mobility state or not being located at the edge of the serving cell.

Abstract: An example method performed by a User Equipment (UE) supporting a Multi-Universal Subscriber Identity Module (MUSIM), the method comprises connecting a first SIM of the UE with a primary cell. The method comprises receiving a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message of the primary cell including information on candidate cells for a conditional handover, a conditional Primary Secondary (PS) cell addition, or a conditional PS cell change. The method comprises identifying that a RRC reconfiguration message of each of the candidate cells comprises at least one of leave assistance information or gap assistance information. The method comprises performing prioritizing at least one candidate cell of the candidate cells that supports MUSIM assistance information, in response to identifying that the RRC reconfiguration message comprises at least one of the leave assistance information or the gap assistance information.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G, 6G, or personal IoT network communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The method of PEMC comprises: transmitting a first message comprising information related to a personal internet of things network (PIN); receiving, from a first personal internet of things network element (PINE), a first joining request message comprising information on a supported service of the first PINE; determining whether to add the first PINE in the PIN based on the information on the supported service; and transmitting, to the first PINE, a first joining accept message comprising at least one identifier (ID) of at least one PINE in the PIN based on a determination that the first PINE is added in the PIN.
