    Abstract: Provided is a portable communication device which transmits manufacturer information and capability information to a wireless power transmitter, the manufacturer information being indicative of a manufacturer of the portable communication device and the capability information being indicative of a charging function of the portable communication device, receives a response from the wireless power transmitter including one or more characteristics with respect to the charging function allowed for the portable communication device, the one or more characteristics being determined by the wireless power transmitter based at least in part on the manufacturer information and the capability information received from the portable communication device, transmits a request for updating at least one of the one or more characteristics with respect to the charging function, and performs the charging function to charge the battery using power received from the wireless power transmitter and determined based on the at least one updated characteristic.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for wireless charging are provided. Transmission power transmitted from a wireless power transmitter is received at a power receiver of a wireless power receiver. A battery of the wireless power receiver is charged with the received transmission power. It is determined whether the battery is fully charged. A packet from a communication unit of the wireless power receiver is transmitted to the wireless power transmitter when the battery is fully charged. An auxiliary charge of the battery is performed by receiving strength-reduced transmission power from the wireless power transmitter.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for are provided for a wireless power receiver. The method includes receiving power from a wireless power transmitter; converting the power in an alternating current (AC) form into a direct current (DC) form and providing the converted power to a battery of the electronic device; measuring a temperature of a point in the wireless power receiver during reception of the wireless power; maintaining an amount of the converted power at a first level if the temperature is lower than a first temperature; decreasing the amount of the converted power to a second level which is lower than the first level if the amount of the converted power is at the first level and the temperature is higher than or equal to the first temperature; stopping providing the converted power to the battery if the temperature is higher than a second temperature; and transmitting, to the wireless power transmitter, a signal including status information of the wireless power receiver device and control information to control the wireless power transmitter.
