Abstract:
A display device includes a display panel, a light source, and an optical component including a light guide film and an optical sheet. The optical sheet is coupled to the light guide film to control a path of a light emitted from the light guide film. The optical sheet includes a base film, main optical patterns, and sub-optical patterns. The main optical patterns are disposed between the base film and the light guide film and coupled to the base film and the light guide film. Each of the main optical patterns includes a side surface inclined with respect to the light guide film. The sub-optical patterns are disposed between the base film and the light guide film, coupled to the base film, and spaced apart from the light guide film. Each of the sub-optical patterns has a side surface inclined with respect to the light guide film.
Abstract:
A display device includes a display panel, a light source, and an optical component which provides a light from the light source to the display panel, includes a light guide film and an optical sheet, is coupled to the light guide film and includes a base film and optical layers disposed between the base film and the light guide film to control a traveling direction of the light where each of the optical layers overlaps the base film by a first width, each of the optical layers overlaps the light guide film by a second width, the first width is greater than a height of each of the optical layers, and a value obtained by dividing the second width by the first width is greater than about zero (0) and smaller than about 0.2.
Abstract:
A display device includes a backlight and a display panel on the backlight. The backlight includes a light source to provide a first light, and an optical wavelength converter to receive the first light and emits a second light. The optical wavelength converter includes a light emitting part having a plurality of excitation light emitting bodies to be excited by receiving the first light, and thereby emit the second light, and a light absorbing part including a plurality of absorbers provided on the light emitting part to receive the second light and absorb a portion of the second light having a wavelength of about 550 nm to about 650 nm.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device includes a backlight unit and a liquid crystal display panel disposed on the backlight unit, wherein the backlight unit includes a light source unit and a plurality of optical sheets, wherein an optical sheet closest to the liquid crystal display panel among the plurality of optical sheets is a polarizing optical sheet and includes a base film and an optical pattern disposed on a surface of the base film, wherein at least one of the base film and the optical pattern includes an aligned organic fluorescent material.
Abstract:
A display device includes a display panel, a light source and an optical component which receives light from the light source, outputs the provided light toward the display panel, and includes a light guiding film which guides the light toward the display panel, an optical sheet which is coupled to the light guiding film, and the optical sheet includes a base film and optical patterns disposed between the base film and the light guiding film to adjust the traveling direction of the light, and a reinforcing part filled between the base film and the light guiding film corresponding to a periphery of the optical component.
Abstract:
A display device includes a display panel and a backlight unit which provides light to the display panel. The backlight unit includes a light source which emits the light, a light guide plate which guides the light emitted from the light source toward the display panel, and a prism plate. The prism plate includes a base film disposed on the light guide plate and a plurality of prisms disposed on the base film. Each of the prisms has an isosceles trapezoidal section, two base angles of which are obtuse angles, when viewed from a cross-sectional view in a width direction.
Abstract:
A display device includes a display panel and a backlight unit. The display panel receives a light to display an image and has a first radius of curvature. The backlight unit is disposed under the display panel to provide the light to the display panel and has a second radius of curvature. The backlight unit includes a plurality of light sources and a plurality of scattering units. The light sources emit the light and the scattering units scatter at least a portion of the light.
