摘要： A receiver receives channel selection related information. The receiver determines to switch to presenting content being received from a provider. Such switching may involve powering on the receiver and/or switching from other operations that do not present received content. The receiver selects a channel based at least one the information and transmits content associated with the selected channel to a presentation device. In various implementations, the information may be received from the content provider, from a user, by monitoring accessed content, and so on. In some implementations, the information may include data specifying a particular channel to select, a commonly accessed channel to select, a characteristic of commonly accessed content that may be used to select a channel associated with content with a similar characteristic, a particular specified characteristic that may be used to select a channel associated with content with a similar characteristic, and so on.
