Abstract: Herbicidal compositions including a benzazaboroxane precursor such as an aryl substituted N,N''-bis-(hydroxyalkyl)-2hydroxybenzylamine compound are disclosed. Increased herbicidal activity is observed with increasing oil solubility of the compound. Activity appears to proceed by binding or mining boron from the plant due to the ligand action of the compounds in forming benzazaboroxanes.
