Abstract: Wireless protocol enhancements are provided for allowing inter-BSS stations/APs to support, negotiate and participate in cooperative R-TWT SPs that are overlapped in time and are scheduled on different links or different channels to avoid the inter-BSS interference of prioritized traffic that has been scheduled to transmitted during the corresponding R-TWT SPs. The protocol makes use of new subfield elements toward informing, negotiating and supporting the cooperative R-TWT SPs.

Abstract: Using this described protocol an AP can control multiple STAs to allow them to utilize the same scrambling seed to scramble the data in identical data units being sent on the wireless network. The AP sends a scrambling seed indication within a frame communicated to other STAs on the network. These other STAs, then use this scrambling seed indication to scramble a data field of a data unit with an identical scrambling seed, and to transmit these packets using the same modulation and coding scheme (MCS).

Abstract: Enhanced TID-to-UP mapping is performed which allows multiple TIDs to be mapped to the UPs of the same AC. Thus, a first STA can set TID-to-UP mapping for a second STA, whereby TID-to-UP mapping can differentiate the MSDUs or A-MSDUs that are transmitted. In addition, an MSDU / A-MSDU can be classified by TID first, then use TID-to-UP mapping to map it to the corresponding UP. In addition, an SCS traffic stream can assign a TID and a UP to that SCS traffic stream. The use of these enhanced mechanism can enhance low latency performance.

Abstract: A non-AP STA, which is a scheduled STA having membership in an R-TWT scheduled STA, having an enqueued urgent burst of RTA traffic for the AP during an ongoing R-TWT SP of which it does not have R-TWT membership, is enabled to initiate R-TWT negotiation with the scheduling AP inside the ongoing R-TWT SP to either request a temporary or a long-term membership of the current ongoing R-TWT SP or request to setup a new temporary or long-term R-TWT SP after the current SP, but before the SP it originally had membership in, or to contend for an RA-RU in the current R-TWT SP if UORA feature is enabled. Thus, a non-R-TWT member STA is granted access for its burst traffic transmissions.

Abstract: An IEEE 802.11 protocol in which the necessity and issues surrounding separately setting up SCS and reserving target wait time (R-TWT) are eliminated. In the present disclosure new data structures and processes are performed in which a station (STA) can request scheduling R-TWT for the traffic transmission of a stream classification service (SCS) during the setup procedure of that SCS. In using the teachings of the present disclosure, a STA can exchange a TWT setup frame on one link to schedule R-TWT on multiple links.

Further control of traffic flow is provided during the R-TWT Service Period (SP), including whether: R-TWT SP can be extended, multiple overlapped R-TWT SPs on different links can be started, spatial reuse is required during R-TWT SP, allowance of transmission outside R-TWT SP, or use of Quiet element to protect R-TWT SP, whereby R-TWT operation (mode) is described with enhanced operations. Protocol is applicable to Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs), and is especially well suited for 802.11be 802.11ax, Real-Time Application (RTA) traffic such as on time sensitive networks, Wi-Fi and on Multi-Link Devices (MLDs).

Abstract: A wireless local area network (WLAN) protocol allowing a Transmit Opportunity (TXOP) holder to share the TXOP with other stations acting cooperatively. An intent to share the TXOP is communicated to other stations that a TXOP is available for sharing, and notifying the Access Point (AP) station of the stations willing to join that TXOP. When the TXOP occurs, the stations can access the channel over different frequency domain simultaneously and for the duration specified, thus providing increased use of the TXOP to improve efficiency.

Abstract: Protocol enhancements for IEEE 802.11 handling of Buffer Status Reports (BSRs) to provide real-time information on Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. A non-AP STA can report QoS status about portions of a buffer, which then allows the AP to schedule transmissions for those buffers toward satisfying their QoS requirements. The non-AP STA can also change parameters of the QoS characteristics element of an existing SCS to allow the AP to schedule transmission for the SCS traffic with the new parameters immediately. The non-AP STA can also report on buffers that should soon arrive to allow the AP to trigger the transmission before those buffers arrive. Additional benefits are also provided.
