    Abstract: In a color video signal generating apparatus in which an objective lens projects an image of an object to be reproduced onto the photoconductive layer of a vidicon tube, color filters having stripelike filter regions of different wavelength band characteristics and a lens screen having cylindrical lenses extending parallel to the stripelike filter regions are arranged in sequence between the objective lens and the photoconductive layer with each color filter being disposed to satisfy the equation IN WHICH L IS THE DISTANCE FROM THE RESPECTIVE COLOR FILTER TO THE LENS SCREEN, B IS THE DISTANCE FROM THE LENS SCREEN TO THE PHOTOCONDUCTIVE LAYER, D AND A are respectively the pitches of the filter regions of the respective color filter and of the lenses of the lens screen, and gamma '' is a positive integer, and further the distances of the color filters from the lens screen and the pitches of the respective filter regions on the color filters are selected so that the images of the filter regions of each color filter projected by the cylindrical lenses on the photoconductive layer have pitches different from those of the images of the filter regions of the other color filters.

    Abstract: In a color video signal generating apparatus in which a filter having regions respectively selecting light of different wavelength ranges and a screen having separating lenses are optically interposed between an object to be televised and a single image pickup tube to cause such separating lenses to coact with the filter in dividing an image of the object into color components which are projected onto said tube in such manner that said color components when successively encountered in the line scanning direction can respectively become chrominance signals having a predetermined color subcarrier frequency and being of the same frequency band, there are provided index image forming means to form index images on the image pickup tube which, when successively encountered in the line scanning direction, produce in the tube output frequency or angle modulated index signals having a carrier frequency which bears a predetermined relationship to the color subcarrier frequency and a frequency band which is different than the frequency band of the chrominance signals, and the positions of the respective color components in the chrominance signals are indicated by the index signals to permit the extraction from the tube output of color video signals.

    Abstract: In a color video signal generating apparatus in which an image of the object to be televised is projected through a color filter onto the photoelectric conversion layer of an image pickup tube and is divided into color component stripes which are successively scanned so that the respective light intensities of the stripes appear as corresponding successive color component signals in the electrical output of the tube, there are also formed on the photoelectric conversion layer two sets of bright and dark stripes having respective spatial frequencies that are different from each other and also each different from the spatial frequency of the color component stripes on such layer so as to provide respective index signals in the tube output, a beat signal is derived from the tube output with a frequency that is the difference between the frequencies of the respective index signals, and such beat signal, which may be frequency multiplied to correspond to the frequency of the color component signals, is employed as a reference for separating the color component signals from each other in the tube output.

    Abstract: In a color video signal generating apparatus in which an image of an object to be reproduced is projected, as stripelike color components thereof, onto the photoconductive layer of a vidicon tube having an electrical output composed of successive signals corresponding to the light intensities successively encountered by the electron beam of the tube in scanning the photoconductive layer, such stripelike components of the image are extended obliquely to the line scanning direction, and the electron beam is deflected from the normal scanning line, preferably by onehalf the pitch between successive scanning lines of a standard raster, for every other scanning line of such raster, so that, when a picture is reproduced from the tube output with the standard raster, periodic noises appearing in the tube output will be randomly distributed in the reproduced picture and hence not readily perceptible.

    Abstract: A color television camera comprises an image pickup tube having a photoconductive layer for the photoelectric conversion of images projected thereon into an electrical output, a color filter for forming a color separated image of an object to be televised on the photoconductive layer, and an electrode arrangement through which an index image can be electrically produced on the photoconductive layer to provide in the tube output an index signal as well as a color video signal corresponding to the color separated image, such electrode arrangement including a first continuous transparent conductive layer and a second transparent conductive layer in the form of spaced stripes on the first transparent conductive layer and electrically insulated from the latter, with the photoconductive layer contacting the electrode arrangement at the stripes of the second transparent conductive layer and at the areas of the first transparent conductive layer between such stripes.

    Abstract: In a color video signal generating apparatus employing a single image pickup tube photoelectrically converting light projected onto the pickup tube into an electrical output, a screen of parallel cylindrical lenses cooperates with a filter constituted by a simple pattern of different colored filter elements so that light from the object passes through the filter elements and is separated into a plurality of color components whereby a portion of such image corresponding to each cylindrical lens is projected by the lens as separate color components on an effective area of the pickup tube to obtain from the latter a dot sequential chrominance signal, and means including a single light source are provided for projecting a first pattern of alternating light and dark images on the effective area of the pickup tube containing the projected color components and also projecting a second pattern of alternating light and dark images, of different pitch or width from the first pattern, on an area of the pickup tube means adjacent the aforementioned effective area so that the first and second patterns of images establish first and second frequency signals in the electrical output, which signals are utilized to derive a standard signal synchronized in phase with the sub-carrier of the chrominance signal to extract high resolution color video signals having the same sub-carrier frequency from the chrominance signal. Further, an arrangement is provided to control the horizontal scanning velocity of the pickup tube.
