Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring the total organics in water wherein a sample of the water is introduced into a heated furnace to oxidize the organics to form hydrogen and carbon dioxide, the water is separated from the gaseous reaction products by condensation and the non-condensible gases conveyed by a carrier gas to a detector sensitive to hydrogen.
