Abstract:
A method for setting frequency channels in a multi-hop wireless mesh network including a plurality of nodes. Each node hops on frequency channels, with a hop period, according to a frequency channels hopping sequence. All data packets transmitted by the nodes have a duration strictly longer than the hop period. When a given node of the plurality of nodes is in a first transmit mode in order to transmit a data packet, it carries out steps of: selecting a transmit frequency channel as a function of the frequency channels hopping sequence; and transmitting the data packet using, for the entire duration of the data packet, the selected transmit frequency channel.

A hybrid cable for collecting data inside a well includes an electrical cable extending along a longitudinal axis of the hybrid cable, an optical fiber extending along the longitudinal axis, an armor that extends along the longitudinal axis, and encircles the electrical cable and the optical fiber, and a connecting device extending along the longitudinal axis, to enclose the electrical cable and the optical fiber, and to be enclosed by the armor. The connecting device has an unsmooth external surface.
Abstract:
A communication system includes a node configured to collect ambient data with a sensor, and a docking station configured to couple to the node and to establish a communication path with the node through only one signal along one or two wires. The node includes a first module configured to use a first data communication protocol for receiving commands from the docking station along the communication path, and a second module configured to use a second data communication protocol for sending the ambient data to the docking station along the communication path. The first data communication protocol is different from the second data communication protocol, the first data communication protocol is asynchronous and the second data communication protocol is a modified synchronous protocol.
