摘要： The present disclosure discloses a composition comprising: (a) at least one sulphated galactose; and (b) at least one saccharide selected from a group consisting of disaccharide, trisaccharide, tetrasaccharide, pentasaccharide, and salts thereof. The present disclosure further discloses a weight percentage of the at least one sulphated galactose to be in a range of 15-90% with respect to the total sugar content. Further, the present disclosure discloses a use of the composition for protecting/treating plants from infection. Also provided is a use of the composition for protecting/treating animals from infection. The present disclosure discloses a use of sulphated galactose for protecting/treating plants from infection. Also provided is a use of sulphated galactose for protecting/treating animals from infection. The present disclosure also discloses a method for preparing the composition as described herein.
