Abstract: An apparatus for a touch screen is provided. The apparatus includes a touch screen having a first window in which a first application is run and a second window in which a second application is run, a storage element for storing a plurality of applications including the first and second applications, and preset information about an arrangement order in which the plurality of applications are placed, and a controller for controlling the touch screen to display the first and second applications in the first and second windows, respectively, and determining a predetermined number of applications, with respect to the first and second applications, for preloading in an active region of the storage element from among the plurality of applications based on the preset information about the arrangement.
