    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a display apparatus including: a display; a signal receiver configured to receive an image signal; a signal processor configured to process the image signal received in the signal receiver; a first sensor configured to sense ambient brightness; and a controller configured to control the signal processor to change grayscale of an output image to be displayed on the display based on characteristics of the image signal and characteristics of the display apparatus if a glare level corresponding to the ambient brightness sensed by the first sensor and brightness of the display is greater than a preset threshold.

    Abstract: A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus includes: a display; a storage configured to store output luminance information of a plurality of grayscale values according to brightness information; and a processor configured to: obtain a plurality of grayscale adjustment curves based on the output luminance information stored in the storage, obtain a plurality of calibration effects by applying each of the plurality of grayscale adjustment curves to an input image, obtain a grayscale adjustment curve corresponding to a maximum calibration effect from among the plurality of calibration effects, adjust a grayscale of each pixel of the input image based on the obtained grayscale adjustment curve to generate an output image, and output the output image through the display.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a local dimming liquid crystal display device. The present local dimming liquid crystal display device comprises a display panel unit having a plurality of pixels; a panel driving unit for driving each of the plurality of pixels; a backlight unit comprising a plurality of backlights for dividing the display panel unit into a plurality of areas to emit light to each of the plurality of regions; a backlight driving unit for driving the plurality of backlights on the basis of gray level information of the plurality of pixels corresponding to each of the plurality of areas; and a processor for calculating a first amount of light to be incident on each pixel on the basis of the gray level of each pixel, calculating a second amount of light incident on each pixel in accordance with a driving state of the plurality of back-lights, changing the gray level of at least one of the plurality of pixels on the basis of the difference between the first amount of light and the second amount of light, and controlling the panel driving unit on the basis of the changed gray level.

    Abstract: A display apparatus and control method thereof are provided. The display apparatus including: a display configured to display an image; a backlight unit including a plurality of light sources configured to emit light to a screen of the display; an image processor configured to divide an input image into a plurality of blocks, identify target brightness for each block, and adjust a control value of each of the plurality of light sources based on priority of each of the plurality of light sources; and a driver configured to drive the plurality of light sources based on the control value. Thus, the duty for controlling the quality of light from the light source is identified considering the duty of the light source corresponding to an area of which previously identified priority is high, and thus dimming control is possible taking effects of light diffusion from adjacent neighboring light sources into account.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method of successively capturing high quality image data at high speed are provided. The image input apparatus includes an image sensor for capturing image data from a subject; an image signal processor encoding the image data transmitted from the image sensor to produce digital image data; and a memory for storing the digital image data. The image signal processor decodes the digital image data according to an operating signal from a user and provides the user with the decoded digital image data. Therefore, the high quality image data can be obtained at high speed, and the lifespan of an external memory can be increased.
