According to various embodiments of the present invention, an electronic device may comprise a display device and a processor, wherein the processor is configured, when a particular telephone number is detected, to obtain data associated with the telephone number, to extract first information that represents the telephone number and second information that is base data for the extraction of the first information from the associated data according to a predetermined criterion, and to display the telephone number and the first information onto the display device.
