Abstract: An apparatus and method for assisting object recognition are provided. The method includes detecting at least one object in an image, determining which of the at least one object is selected by a user, providing feedback to the user so as to enable the user to center the selected object within the image, and capturing an image of the selected object in which the selected object is centered within the image.
