An image forming apparatus and a method of reducing image banding of the image forming apparatus is provided. The image forming apparatus includes: a photoconductor unit on which an electrostatic latent image is formed; and a conveying unit configured to convey printing medium at a first conveying velocity toward the photoconductor unit, and configured to convey the printing medium at a second conveying velocity that is lower than the first conveying velocity when the printing medium approaches the photoconductor unit.

A power transmitting device having a structure to allow a photoconductor to stably form a visible image on a printing medium. The power transmitting device interconnects a rotator and a drive motor, the drive motor generating drive power to drive the rotator. The power transmitting device includes at least one gear to be rotated upon receiving power from the drive motor, a rotating shaft having one end penetrating the gear and a coupler to interconnect the other end of the rotating shaft and the rotator. An outer diameter of the coupler, an outer diameter of the rotator and an outer diameter of the gear satisfy the following relation: 0.7D1

An image forming apparatus, a color registration test pattern of the image forming apparatus, and a method of forming the color registration test pattern are provided. A time required for color registration may be reduced by minimizing a region in which a color registration test pattern is formed on an intermediate transfer body. A control method of the image forming apparatus, which includes photosensitive media arranged side by side to correspond to colors in a rotation direction of the intermediate transfer body, includes forming first patterns of the colors arranged in a single row in a sub-scanning direction in a first region of the intermediate transfer body over a single-rotation period of the photosensitive media, and forming second patterns of the colors arranged in a single row in the sub-scanning direction in a second region of the intermediate transfer body over another single-rotation period of the photosensitive media.
