A display apparatus includes: a display; a processor configured to process a content image to be displayed on the display; a storage configured to store a database where control commands for controlling operations of the processor corresponding to a plurality of pieces of the rotation information and a plurality of pieces of the touch information are designated according to kinds of contents; and a controller configured to determine a kind of content corresponding to the content image being displayed on the display in response to receiving at least one from among rotation information corresponding to a user's rotating operation and touch information corresponding to a user's touching operation, from an input device, and configured to control the processor to execute a control command corresponding to the received rotation information or the received touch information from the database based on the determined kind of content.

A remote controller and a remote control method thereof are provided. The remote controller includes a communication module which communicates with a plurality of devices; an input unit through which a user command is input; and a controlling unit which determines a pointed device, among the plurality of devices, that the remote controller is pointing towards, and controls the communication module to transmit the user command to the pointed device to control the pointed device.

A universal remote controller and a remote control method thereof are provided. The remote controller includes a display screen, a communication module configured to communicate with a plurality of devices, an input unit configured to receive a user command, a controlling unit configured to receive identification information from a device of the plurality of devices which is pointed at by the remote controller through the communication module, control the display screen to display a user interface customized for the device corresponding to the identification information, and receive information input through the user interface for communication with the device so that the remote controller can operate with the device.

A multimedia apparatus and a method for providing content thereof are provided. In the method for providing content of the multimedia apparatus, user private information corresponding to authentication information of a user is acquired when the authentication information of the user for execution of content is received, a state of the user using at least one sensor is detected during reproduction of the content, a parameter of the content is changed according to the acquired private information and the state of the user, and the content is reproduced with the changed parameter.

Disclosed are a portable apparatus and a method for sharing content thereof, in which the method of sharing contents in a portable apparatus includes receiving user interaction with a document targeted for photographing through a camera of the portable apparatus; and sharing a content corresponding to the document with at least one remote device so as to correspond to the user interaction with the document. With this, the user interaction with the contents of the portable apparatus input through the camera and the document targeted for photographing is shared with the remote device, thereby efficiently supporting education focused on students.

Provided are a method of storing status information in a first content reproducing device, and a method of allowing content to be automatically reproduced in a second content reproducing device based on the status information stored in the first content reproducing device. The method of storing status information includes: monitoring an operation of the first content reproducing device; generating status information about the monitored operation; and storing the status information in the first content reproducing device. The method of allowing content to be automatically reproduced includes: checking if the first and second content reproducing devices are connected to each other; reading a log file recording the status information from the first content reproducing device if the first and second content reproducing devices are connected to each other; interpreting the status information; and selectively performing an operation according to a result of the interpreting.
