Abstract: A backlight assembly includes an optical member, a receiving container and a combining member. The optical member is configured to change optical characteristics of light. The receiving container includes a bottom plate and a sidewall. The bottom plate is disposed under the optical member and is configured to receive the optical member thereon. The sidewall extends from the bottom plate to form a receiving space with the bottom plate. The optical member is received in the receiving space. The combining member includes a first frame, a second frame and a third frame. The first frame partially covers a bottom surface of the optical member. The second frame protrudes upwards from the first frame. The third frame protrudes from an inner surface of the second frame to partially cover an upper surface of the optical member.
