Abstract:
A sliding member for which adhesiveness between the surface of a base member and metal coating is enhanced. An undercoat layer having a resin material at the surface thereof is provided, and a solid lubricating portion is formed on the undercoat layer so as to provide a sliding face from at least one kind of material of silver, silver alloy, copper and copper alloy. An intermixture layer in which both the undercoat layer and the solid lubricating portion are intermixed with each other is interposed between the undercoat layer and the solid lubricating portion.
Abstract:
There are provided a sliding member that is enhanced in adhesiveness between the surface of a base member formed of aluminum or aluminum alloy and silver coating with a simple construction, and a method of manufacturing the sliding member. In a piston 1 having a sliding face 22 which slides in a cylinder bore 3, a silver coating layer 21 constituting the sliding face 22 is provided on the outer peripheral surface 11 of a main body 10 formed of aluminum alloy, and the silver coating layer 21 is formed by coating slurry having silver particles 23 dispersed in terpineol on the outer peripheral surface 11 of the main body 10 and heating the coated slurry and the main body 10 to remove terpineol in the slurry and fuse the silver particles 23 with one another.

Abstract:
Provided is an aluminum alloy piston for an internal combustion engine. In the internal combustion engine, the piston moves back and forth in a sleeve made of grey cast iron or an aluminum alloy. Further, the piston, which is made from silver, silver alloy, copper, or copper alloy, is provided with a film that covers the scoring that is formed on the piston skirt and there are undulations in the surface of the film, formed from protrusions and depressions. There is a difference of 8-15 μm between the lowest point of the depressions and the highest point of the protrusions. The pitch of adjacent protrusions corresponds to the pitch of projections in the scoring. In addition, the arithmetic average roughness (Ra) of the protrusion peaks does not exceed 60 nm.

Abstract:
There is provided a method by which a member having an undercut in the inner peripheral portion thereof can be formed readily. To form a material (1) formed with a recess (2) and the undercut (3) by using a swaging device, while the material (1) is first gripped by a clamper (11), and a mandrel (12) is inserted into the recess (2) of the material (1). The mandrel (12) used has an outside diameter equal to the inside diameter of a blind hole of an aimed product (fuel injection nozzle). Then, the material (1) is pushed in by the mandrel (12) to a position at which the material (1) abuts on a stopper (13), and the outside surface of the material (1) is struck by swaging dies (8) to perform a swaging operation. This swaging operation reduces the inside diameter of the recess (2) to the outside diameter of the mandrel (12), with the undercut (3) left.
Abstract:
A cylinder barrel inside surface treatment apparatus for providing a uniform treatment finish is disclosed. The treatment apparatus includes a pallet on which a cylinder block is placed with a gasket surface faced upward. A top opening of a cylinder barrel of the cylinder block is covered by a cover member having a concave portion communicating with the top opening. A nozzle having treatment solution spray holes is attached to the cover member. The treatment solution is sprayed toward a wall of the concave portion from the treatment solution spray holes and flows along the wall from a top end to a bottom end of the cylinder barrel inside surface.
