    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for inserting supplemental content into cloud-rendered media content, such as video game cutscenes. The media content is rendered and encoded for streaming to a client device. Data related to a current session associated with the client device is retrieved. Based on the retrieved session data, a supplemental content item is identified for insertion into the streaming media content. If an insertion point is detected within the streaming media content, the supplemental content item is streamed to the client device in place of the streaming media content. Once streaming of the supplemental content item has ended, either at the end of the supplemental content item or in response to a request from the client device to skip the supplemental content item, streaming of the streaming media content is resumed.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling the volume of content displayed on displays, such as physical and extended reality displays, based on the pose of an extended reality (XR) headset, or the gaze therefrom, are disclosed. The methods spatially map displays and audio devices on which the content is to be outputted. The methods also monitor 6DOF of the XR headset worn by the user to consume the displayed content. Based on a user's current pose or gaze, the methods determine a field of view (FOV) from the XR headset and the displays that fall within the FOV. The volume of the displays is controlled based on the where the display is located relative to the pose or gaze. The volume of a display that is within a threshold angle of the gaze is increased and volume of other displays is minimized, muted, and/or the content is displayed as closed captioning.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for manipulating a state or quality of playback of a content item. A field of view of an extended reality display device is identified, and an extent to which each of a plurality of displays falls within the field of view of the extended reality display device is determined, wherein the plurality of displays comprises at least one physical display. A plurality of factors are generated based on the determined extent to which the plurality of displays falls within the field of view, each factor corresponding to a different display of the plurality of displays. For at least one display of the plurality of displays, a state or quality of playback of a content item is manipulated in a manner responsive to the extent to which the at least one display falls within the field of view, based on the factor corresponding to the display.

    Abstract: Interactive video game content for a video game is streamed to a client device using a first streaming protocol configured for low-latency streaming. When an indication of non-interactive content to be inserted into the video game is detected, streaming of the interactive video game content to the client device is paused and the non-interactive content is streamed to the client device using a second streaming protocol configured for adaptive bitrate streaming. Upon receiving an indication that streaming of the non-interactive content to the client device has ended, streaming of the interactive content to the client device is resumed using the first streaming protocol.
