    Abstract: Two devices (e.g., two wireless Bluetooth earbuds) may exchange device address information (e.g., Bluetooth address information) and may identify a primary address. When either of the devices connect to a source device (e.g., a phone), the primary address may be used by the connecting device such that the pair of devices appear as a single device (e.g., a Bluetooth-pairable device) to the source device, regardless of the device connecting to the source device as the primary device. The primary device may then send identity information (e.g., that has been exchanged with the secondary device) to the source device, such that the source device may connect to either of the two devices. Further, once a primary device connects to the source device, the primary device may transmit, to the secondary device, connection information such that the secondary device may connect to the source device and operate in the primary role.

    Abstract: There is a need to enable a wireless device to output signals such that the natural instincts of the user may be triggered. The present disclosure provides a solution by enabling a wireless device to determine a time delay and intensity difference associated with an audio output at a subset output devices based at least in part on a perceived spatial placement of at least one signal, a position of the transmitting device, and/or a signal strength associated with the signal. Using the time delay and the intensity difference, the output devices farthest from the transmitting device may output the at least one signal using the time delay and the intensity difference such that the user may detecting differences in the sound wave's time of arrival and intensity at the left ear versus the right ear, and thus, perceive the location of the audio source.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may communicate with a second device, which may be a Bluetooth device, using a relay profile (e.g., a low energy (LE) isochronous (ISO) relay profile). In accordance with broadcast discovery signaling by the device and decisions made by the Bluetooth device, the device may synchronize to a broadcast isochronous stream (BIS) from another device. The device may then establish a communication link with the second device (e.g., a synchronous connection oriented (SCO) link, an enhanced synchronous connection oriented (eSCO) link, an asynchronous connection less (ACL) link) to be used for relay of the BIS. The device may then convert, based on the relay profile, broadcast isochronous data packets of the BIS to SCO packets, eSCO packets, and/or ACL packets, and relay the converted packets to the second device via the established communication link.

Some implementations more specifically relate to authenticating broadcast isochronous communications between unconnected wireless communication devices using backchannel challenge and response exchanges. Some implementations involve the generation and verification of a secret code based on an authentication token and a shared secret key. The authentication token and secret code may be exchanged via a backchannel between unconnected broadcasting and receiving devices to authenticate a broadcast isochronous stream.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to performing a reliable broadcast from a source device to a plurality of nodes. In an aspect, a representative node establishes a first wireless communication link with each of one or more non-representative nodes, receives, from each of the one or more non-representative nodes, information indicating an ability of the one or more non-representative nodes to sniff wireless communications, establishes a second wireless communication link with the source device, configures the second wireless link based on the information received from the one or more non-representative nodes, sends control information for the second wireless communication link to each of the one or more non-representative nodes, and receives communications from the source device over the second wireless communication link, wherein the one or more non-representative nodes sniff the communications on the second wireless communication link based on the control information for that link.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for language translation are described. A device (e.g., a user equipment (UE), a pair of Bluetooth earbuds or a Bluetooth headset) may identify a sound signal originating in an augmented reality environment. The sound signal may include a representation in a language (e.g., a language translated from an original language). The device may, in response to reception of the sound signal, determine a set of characteristics of the sound signal based in part on a set of measurements of the sound signal (e.g., an intensity of the sound signal, an angle of arrival of the sound signal, a pitch of the sound signal, a loudness of the sound signal) and apply one or more characteristics from at least one of the set of characteristics to an output of the sound signal provide a natural rendering of the sound signal at the device.

    Abstract: A first Bluetooth audio device paired with a second Bluetooth audio device may coordinate communications between the two BT audio devices. The first Bluetooth audio device may originally communication with the second BT audio device over a first type of Bluetooth connection. When the first Bluetooth audio device determines that the second Bluetooth audio device has left or is close to leaving the range of the first Bluetooth audio device, the first Bluetooth audio device may switch to communicating with the second Bluetooth audio device over a second type of Bluetooth connection or over a wireless mesh network. The first Bluetooth audio device may maintain a Bluetooth connection of the first type with a mobile device regardless of how the first Bluetooth audio device communicates with the second Bluetooth audio device.
