Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may transition between a real-time texting (RTT) mode and a text teletypewriter (TTY) mode and vice versa, on a user equipment (UE). A UE may make a determine to transition between two texting modes while coordinating the transfer of text data between the different modes. Some wireless communications systems may also transition a UE between a packet switched network and a circuit switched network without loss of signal and consistent text data delivery during the communication without losing the text data during the transition between the two coverage areas. Transitioning between modes and networks may provide a user with interoperability and the benefit of conveniently switching between two modes without service interruption.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication includes initiating handover of a first call from a source network to a target network. The first call is associated with first header information. The method also includes receiving a message indicating a change of Internet protocol (IP) address to a new IP address during the handover. The method further includes releasing resources associated with the first call, in response to receiving the message. The method includes registering the new IP address with the target network, and initiating a second call with the first header information. The method also includes replacing the first call with the second call and the new IP address.

Abstract: Allocation failures may occur on a network during handovers. Therefore, a user equipment (UE) may include a configurable timer that is configured to begin once an allocation or grant is revoked or a quality-of-service (QoS) condition is unsatisfied. A UE may be configured to wait for an allocation or grant or may be configured to elicit an allocation or grant. During a network connection, a UE may determine that the allocation or grant is unreceived before expiration of the configurable timer. Based on the determination that the allocation or grant is unreceived before expiration of the configurable timer, the UE may transit a session initiation protocol (SIP) re-invite message in order to allow a network to bring up dedicated bearers for the network connection.
