Abstract: In various aspects, the disclosure provides for cell selection including determining a gain of an antenna associated with a user equipment (UE), adding an offset to a threshold to yield a power threshold, wherein the offset is based on the gain of the antenna, selecting a wireless network, obtaining a power measurement associated with a cell within the selected wireless network, and comparing the power measurement with the power threshold to yield a comparison.
