Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for priority based stand-alone and carrier aggregated frequency band usage. An example method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes: maintaining a high-priority list (HPL) and a low-priority list (LPL) of frequency bands and combinations of frequency bands that are supported by the UE, wherein the HPL and the LPL are based on one or more hardware (HW) components of the UE; and taking one or more actions based on one or more measured parameters of the frequency bands or the combinations of frequency bands and at least one of the HPL and the LPL.
