Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). The UE detects one or more conditions are satisfied during a streaming session during which the UE buffers downlink data for playback. The UE transmits, to a network entity, a request to change a connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) cycle based on detecting the one or more conditions are satisfied.
