Abstract: In some implementations, a server may obtain metric information from each of a group of RF positioning anchors, wherein the metric information of a respective RF positioning anchor comprises information regarding: a time source accessible to the respective RF positioning anchor, a ground truth accuracy of a known location of the respective RF positioning anchor, a clock stability of the respective RF positioning anchor, a geographic location of the respective RF positioning anchor, a prevalence of Line of Sight (LoS) links of the respective RF positioning anchor, or power consumption information of the respective RF positioning anchor, or a combination thereof. The server may select the synchronization reference anchor from the group of RF positioning anchors based at least in part on the metric information. The server may transmit information indicative of the selected synchronization reference anchor to each RF positioning anchor of the group of RF positioning anchors.

Abstract: In some implementations, an ultra-wideband (UWB) initiator anchor device may receive a first blink message from a mobile device, wherein: the first blink message is sent during a slot of a contention access period (CAP) in a round of a UWB session, and the first blink message comprises a radio frequency (RF) message configured to enable UpLink Time Difference of Arrival (UL-TDoA) measurements by one or more UWB responder anchor devices. The UWB initiator anchor device may transmit a control message from the UWB initiator anchor device indicating a reserved slot in a subsequent contention free period (CFP) of the UWB session, wherein reserving the slot is responsive, at least in part, to receiving the first blink message at the UWB initiator device from the mobile device.

Abstract: In some implementations, a method may comprise determining capabilities of UWB initiator and responder devices related to at least one UWB session. The method may also comprise determining a gap duration based at least in part on the capabilities of the UWB initiator and responder devices for performing RF retuning during the at least one UWB session. The method may also comprise sending a configuration to the UWB initiator and/or responder devices, wherein the configuration is indicative of: a first period of time in the at least one UWB session during which a first portion of the UWB RF signals is transmitted using a first carrier frequency, a gap of at least the determined gap duration following the first period of time, and a second period of time, following the gap, during which a second portion of the UWB RF signals is transmitted using a second carrier frequency.

Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enhance the security of UWB ranging, thereby improving the accuracy and reliability of the UWB ranging. In one aspect, a first wireless device embeds first information for generating a secure sequence of a ranging message in a payload section of the ranging message. The first wireless device generates the secure sequence based at least in part on the first information. The first wireless device transmits the ranging message including the secure sequence and the payload section for a second wireless device. In another aspect, a second wireless device receives a ranging message from a first wireless device that includes a first secure sequence and a payload section. The second wireless device generates a second secure sequence based on information embedded in the payload section of the ranging message.
