摘要： A method and device for enabling selective privacy in a push to talk (PTT) wireless group communication session provides improved control over sharing of user identity information. The method includes processing at a PTT server a request for selective privacy. The PTT server then processes one or more selective privacy parameters, whereby at least a first session participant is enabled to receive an identification of a second session participant and a third session participant is not enabled to receive an identification of the second session participant. The PTT server then facilitates the PTT wireless group communication session between at least the first session participant, second session participant, and third session participant according to the one or more selective privacy parameters.

摘要： A method and information processing system provide discrete media transfer status information. The method includes receiving a discrete media transfer request (904) from a wireless device (104) including discrete media. A request for discrete media transfer status information is received. A request (912) for discrete media transfer status information is wirelessly sent to each receiving wireless device (106) in a group of wireless devices receiving the same media set. Discrete media transfer status information (914) is received from each of the receiving wireless devices (106). A current transfer status (916) associated with each receiving wireless device (106) is stored based on the discrete media transfer status information received from each receiving wireless device. Transfer status (918) for each receiving wireless device (106) is wirelessly sent to at least one wireless device of the group of receiving wireless devices.

A next step includes mapping the floor grant parameter to a predefined floor control scheme. A next step includes operating the PoC session with the floor control scheme. The present invention allows floor control schemes other than the commonly known floor grant to the caller initiating a PoC session.

摘要： A communication system provides for an informing of participants in a Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) communication session that the session is being recorded by a recording device, for a storage, by the recording device, of media that conveyed during the session, and for a subsequent retrieval of the stored media from the recording device. In various embodiments of the invention, a host of the communication session is permitted to determine whether or not the recording device is permitted access to the communication session, and the other participants in the session are able to determine whether to remain in the session when the recording device is permitted access. A user of an MS on behalf of whom the recording device is participating is then able to retrieve the stored media along with information identifying a source of the media and a time associated with the storage of the media.
