Abstract: A device is adapted for use with a battery pack including a plurality of batteries and a case including an exhaust hole and a sealing member closing the exhaust hole, and is configured to discharge gas from case. The device includes: a pedestal on which the battery pack is to be placed; a gas inlet hole formed in the pedestal at a location overlapping the exhaust hole of the battery pack; a discharge duct being a vent path formed in the pedestal and communicating with the gas inlet hole, for guiding the gas discharged from the battery pack to outside of the device; and a pressing part protruding from the gas inlet hole, the pressing part configured to press the sealing member of the battery pack.

Abstract: A battery pack according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes a secondary battery and a battery case that houses the secondary battery. The battery case includes an exhaust section that exhausts gas exhausted from the secondary battery to outside of the battery case. The exhaust section includes at least one slit that is opened along with deformation of the exhaust section occurring in accordance with an increase in pressure in the battery case. In the exhaust section, the slits preferably reversibly operate due to the pressure in the battery case.

Abstract: Battery pack (10) as an example of an exemplary embodiment includes: a plurality of batteries (50); and case (60) including case body (20) housing the plurality of batteries (50) and case lid (30) covering opening (22) of case body (20). Case (60) is configured such that when the internal pressure increases due to generation of gas, case body (20) and case lid (30) are relatively displaced in directions away from each other and a gas exhaust opening is formed in a state that a coupling between case body (20) and case lid (30) is maintained.
