Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus (2) for use with one or a number of modules (71, 74, 78, 86) comprising a base (60) with, or for the receipt of a power tool (72, 76, 80,88). Abstract: An apparatus is provided for use with at least one module comprising a base with, or for the receipt of, a power tool. The module base is received in a recess, aperture or slot defined in a frame. Engagement means are provided to allow the module to be releasably engaged in position, and guide means to allow the accurate introduction and removal of the module from the frame is provided. A plurality of support legs is also provided, movable between a first extended position holding a top surface of the frame at a first distance from a support surface on which the legs are located, and a second position in which at least a portion of the legs are folded or retracted such that the top surface is positioned with a gap at a reduced distance from the support surface.

Abstract: A hand or power tool which can be used as a planer such that the movement of the tool along a workpiece causes a portion of the material of the workpieces to be removed by at least one cutter blade provided on the tool at a baseplate of the tool which contacts with the workpiece. The tool is provided with at least one movable portion which can be moved with respect to the baseplate and hence the tool. The movable portion can be angularly movable to allow a chamfer cut to be accurately achieved and/or can be slidably movable with respect to the baseplate so as to protrude from an edge thereof to allow greater cutting accuracy to be achieved. In a further embodiment the movement portion can be provided so as to be moved to allow user access to at least one debris conduit.
