摘要: Compositions and methods for controlling pests are provided. The methods involve transforming organisms with a nucleic acid sequence encoding an insecticidal protein. In particular, the nucleic acid sequences are useful for preparing plants and microorganisms that possess insecticidal activity. Thus, transformed bacteria, plants, plant cells, plant tissues and seeds are provided. Compositions are insecticidal nucleic acids and proteins of bacterial species. The sequences find use in the construction of expression vectors for subsequent transformation into organisms of interest including plants, as probes for the isolation of other homologous (or partially homologous) genes. The pesticidal proteins find use in controlling, inhibiting growth or killing Lepidopteran, Coleopteran, Dipteran, fungal, Hemipteran and nematode pest populations and for producing compositions with insecticidal activity.

摘要: Provided are compositions and methods for the detection of a chromosomal location in Brassica napus. This disclosure is generally related to the field of plant molecular biology, and in particular embodiments, to the field of detecting a chromosomal translocation within plants. In certain embodiments, the chromosomal translocation occurs between the N7 and N16 chromosomes of Brassica napus. In other embodiments, the chromosomal translocation is a homologous chromosomal reciprocal translocation. Accordingly, this disclosure provides compositions and methods for the identification, detection and utilization of such a chromosomal translocation.

摘要: This disclosure provides methods and compositions for identifying Brassica plants that have a native deletion of the INDEHISCENT gene (BnIND-A) located on chromosome A of B. napus. Also provided are methods of improving one or more agronomic characteristics such as pod shatter and breeding methods for introducing a pod shatter tolerant phenotype in Brassica plants and/or their progeny.
