摘要： A method for quantitative observation of body functions expressed in muscular activity is disclosed along with apparatus for implementing the method in respect of both active and inactive subjects, particularly for observing coughing. The method involves the derivation and compound differencing of signals indicative of contraction of a common activated muscle, and the counting of compound difference signals. In the case of active subjects, the method provides for suppression of counting of compound difference signals where same are not indicative of the occurrence of the body function under observation.
