Abstract:
A PLATE FILTER PRESS IN WHICH THE FILTERS ARE MOUNTED ON RODS BETWEEN END PLATES AND THE RODS EXTEND BEYOND ONE OF THE END PLATES TO A YOKE MEMBER TO WHICH THE RODS ARE CONNECTED. A PRESSURIZED CYLINDER UNIT ACTS BETWEEN THE YOKE MEMBER AND THE END PLATE CLOSEST THERETO, TO URGE THE END PLATES TOWARD EACH OTHER TO PRESS THE FILTERS.
Abstract:
A FILTER PRESS WHEREIN THE EFFECTIVE FILTERING AREA MAY BE ENLARGED BY THE CONSTRUCTION WHEREBY THE SPACE BETWEEN ADJACENT FILTER PLATES IS SUB-DIVIDED INTO CHAMBERS, EACH ISOLATED FROM EACH OTHER BUT IN FLUID COMMUNICATION WITH CORRESPONDING CHAMBERS IN THE SPACES BETWEEN ADJACENT FILTER PLATES. A SEPARATE FLUID CONVEYANCE DEVICE MAY BE PROVIDED FOR EACH GROUP OF CONNECTED CHAMBERS.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system for the thickening of sludges, in particular domestic sewage or industrial waste sludges. The system comprises two or more consecutively arranged thickening stages each consisting of one thickening tank or several parallel thickening tanks, and wherein the ratio of the largest inside diameter to the mean sludge level is larger than 1:1 in the first tank and smaller than 1:1 in the second tank relative to the direction of sludge flow.
Abstract:
The invention relates to clarifying apparatus, such as settling tanks, provided with a bridge member which rotates in a horizontal plane above the suspension of solids being treated in the tank. The tank is free of any central supporting column for the bridge member and the bridge is supported at least at one end by the outer wall of the tank. A bridge support member, rigid with the tank, extends over the tank above the rotatable bridge member and provides a central pivot for rotation of the bridge member. The bridge support member may extend diametrically across the tank and may support the bridge member.
Abstract:
Apparatus for shifting, locking and unlocking filter plates in a pressure filter having filter plates mounted for horizontal shifting movement by a driven shifting unit. A pawl-like member engages catch elements on the filter plates and at least one resilient, yielding member is associated with the means for transmitting power from the driven shifting unit to the filter plates.
Abstract:
Apparatus for locking filter plates in a filter press embodying ratchet means extending longitudinally of the filter press with the plates being movable relative to the ratchet means. A movable actuating member is carried by each filter plate and is movable selectively to an operative position in engagement with the ratchet means and to an inoperative position out of engagement with the ratchet means.
Abstract:
A cleaning device for a filter press. A spray tube is mounted on a carriage beneath the filter plates, the carriage being movable lengthwise of the filter press and including a device to lift and lower the spray tube between a lowered position and a raised position, the spraying tube being located in the raised position between filter plates to clean the same. The carriage may ride along the side bars of the filter press or it may ride along the top of a cake-catching basin located beneath the filter plates.
