Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes an imaging unit, a sample acquisition unit, a photographing state determination unit, a guide display generation unit and a display unit. The imaging unit acquires a subject image which is an image of a subject. The sample acquisition unit acquires a sample image. The photographing state determination unit calculates position and posture information indicative of an inclination relative to a horizontal plane and a height of the imaging unit. The guide display generation unit creates a guide display showing a method for photographing for approximating a composition of the subject image to a composition of the sample image based on the position and posture information. The display unit displays the guide display.
