摘要: An electrosurgical generator for generating a high-frequency AC voltage for an electrosurgical instrument, having a high-voltage inverter that generates and outputs a high-frequency AC voltage. A filter having a parallel capacitor is on an output line. A measuring sensor circuit having a current divider, which has a capacitive coupling to a series-connected shunt as bypass with respect to the parallel capacitor, and having a voltage detection circuit connected to the shunt. The shunt has a considerably lower impedance than the capacitive coupling. This gives rise to a proportional ratio between the current flowing through the parallel capacitor on the output line of the electrosurgical generator and the current through the shunt. This current is converted into a voltage, which is detected. The current at the output of the inverter is determined quickly and accurately thanks to the proportional relationship. This may be used for feedback and improved monitoring and regulation.

摘要: A surgical generator configured to output a high-frequency alternating voltage to a surgical ultrasound instrument. An oscillator generates a driving oscillation for an inverter generating high-frequency voltage being for the surgical instrument. A matching-coil emulation device includes a correction device acting on the driving oscillation. The correction device includes a mixing unit and a feedback circuit, modifying the driving oscillation supplied to the inverter. An estimator calculates a virtual current which would flow in the emulated matching-coil if it were present, based on this and a measured output voltage an artificial phase shift is determined for steering of the oscillator. Thereby, the transfer function is reshaped mimicking that of a physical matching coil. Accordingly, a bulky matching coil that must be precisely tuned to the ultrasound instrument and restricts use of newer and different ultrasound instruments is no longer needed.

摘要: An electrosurgical generator supplies, during operation, a high-frequency alternating current to an electrosurgical instrument for plasma cutting of body tissue. The electrosurgical generator has outputs for connecting an electrosurgical instrument to supply an electrosurgical instrument connected to the outputs with a high-frequency alternating current, and for determining the impedance of a load connected to the outputs. The electrosurgical generator features impedance and voltage measuring units as well as an output voltage control unit. The output voltage control unit is designed to control the AC output voltage depending on a maximum output voltage value that is set during operation depending on an output value of the impedance measuring unit and/or depending on an output value of the voltage measuring unit, such that the maximum output voltage value predefines a lower AC output voltage during a vaporization phase than during an ignition phase occurring subsequently to the vaporization phase.

摘要: An Electrosurgical generator including an inverter unit generating a high-frequency alternating voltage to be supplied to at least two output sockets for connection of electrosurgical instruments. The inverter unit is a multilevel inverter. It includes a plurality of co-operating inverter cells which are connected in a cascaded manner in a first state and being split into at least two groups (I, II) in a second state. The inverter unit is selectively switchable between said first and second state. Each group is assigned one of the output sockets and feeds its HF voltage thereto. This enables simultaneous controlling of the distinct groups and their HF output. Thereby, unwanted interference patterns can be avoided. Uncontrolled low-frequency beat can be largely suppressed, allowing improved control of thermal energy and cutting power. Quality of the work performed can be increased which is beneficial for the patient.

摘要: An electrosurgical generator for an electrosurgical instrument includes DC voltage supply and high-voltage inverter that generates high-frequency AC voltage having variable voltage and frequency. Inverter is multilevel inverter controlled by reference signal and having at least two groups of series-connected inverter cells, wherein each group is supplied with different DC voltage and wherein the voltages output by the two groups are summed to be output at output. Group supplied with higher voltage enables fast and large voltage changes with its inverter cells, while inverter cells of other group supplied with lower voltage allow fine setting with high change speed. Dynamic range is improved both from temporal viewpoint and in terms of increased voltage span. The number of HVC cells to be switched may furthermore be varied by way of modulator, wherein further number of LVC cells are switched in an opposing manner for compensation purposes. Switching losses may be reduced.

摘要: An electrosurgical generator includes a power supply unit which, when operating, supplies a direct voltage circuit, and a high-voltage inverter supplied from it that generates a high-frequency alternating voltage that is applied to outputs for connection of the electrosurgical instrument. The inverter includes a clock-driven power switch and a zero-crossing detector that recognizes zero crossings of the oscillation generated by the inverter. A signal for the generated alternating voltage is applied to the zero-crossing detector via a voltage divider which is a capacitive voltage divider with at least one capacitor that is resistant to high voltage. Undesirable direct voltage components at the center tap in the presence of changes to the supply voltage can be avoided thereby, since charge reversals as a result of changes to the supply voltage occur on both sides, and their effects thus cancel out.
