Abstract:
To provide an e-mail communication apparatus, an e-mail communication method and a program capable of, in the case of receiving e-mail which is split e-mails including request-to-send (RTS) information for transmitting the e-mail to a predetermined destination, suitably performing transmittal confirmation without transmitting to a source the e-mail of the transmittal confirmation as to each of multiple pieces of the split e-mails. First, an MFP 100 having received the e-mail determines whether or not the e-mail is one of multiple divided data pieces generated by dividing image data by a data amount so as to store it. In the case where the received data is the divided data, the MFP 100 determines whether or not all the divided data pieces of the image data are stored, and transmits transmittal confirmation mail based on an MDN request if all are stored.
Abstract:
An image communication apparatus for sending an email attached with image data stores an email address corresponding to the image communication apparatus, and obtains another email address different from the email address corresponding to the image communication apparatus, the other email address corresponding to a user who sends the email. The other email address which is obtained is set to a header part of the email, and the email, of which the header part is set with the other email address, is sent to an email server in accordance with SMTP protocol. The email server is notified of the stored email address through a MAIL command used in the SMTP protocol.
Abstract:
A communications device and method for transmitting e-mail with image data attached as an attachment file can select whether to send the e-mail directly to the recipient or via a mail server, depending on the address of the e-mail to be transmitted. As a result, the disclosed device and method can reduce the load on the mail server and transmit large volumes of data reliably.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus that enables to output a transmission result report without confusing a user even if a part of printing mechanisms or a printing function is broken. A report output unit generates a transmission result report showing a result of transmission of image data and causes the printing unit to output the transmission result report. A setting unit sets whether to add a part of the transmitted image data to the transmission result report as an additional image. A control unit creates and outputs the transmission result report without adding the additional image even if the setting unit sets to add the additional image, when the transmitted image data is the color image and when the printing unit cannot print a color image and can print a monochrome image.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus obtains image data, generates electronic mail data, and transmits the generated electronic mail data. A size upper limit of the electronic mail data is obtained, the size upper limit being designated by a user, and it is determined whether or not a data size of the generated electronic mail data exceeds a value obtained by subtracting a predetermined value from the size upper limit. If it is determined that the data size of the generated electronic mail data exceeds the value obtained by subtracting the predetermined value from the size upper limit, a plurality of electronic mail data is generated by dividing the image data such that a data size of each of the plurality of electronic mail data does not exceed the value obtained by subtracting the predetermined value from the size upper limit, and the generated plurality of electronic mail data is transmitted.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus enhances security in transmitting electronic mail to a destination mail address without degrading operability. An MFP is connected to an authentication server and a mail server via a network. A user name and a password are entered in a user name entry screen. The MFP requests the authentication server to authenticate the entered user name and password. When the user name and the password are authenticated, the MFP is operable to acquire an e-mail address, a SMTP authentication user name, and a SMTP authentication password according to SMTP associated with the authenticated user name and password from the authentication server. The MFP requests the mail server to authenticate the acquired SMTP authentication user name and SMTP authentication password according to SMTP. When the SMTP authentication user name and the SMTP authentication password are authenticated, the MFP is operable to transmit an e-mail to the mail server.
